One of my goals this year was to learn how to solve a Rubik's cube.
I've finally memorized the moves and committed them into muscle memory.
This problem took me about 7 minutes to solve, not as fast as those superfast sub-1 minute solvers, but I did it on my own.
Things I've learnt from this exercise:
- Things are easy if you break them down step by step.
- My 3D spatial visualization and imagination has improved. I can see the cubes moving in my mind.
- Analyze for patterns and symmetry to solve a problem. The final step to solve the H and Fish pattern is actually one problem only. The H pattern solving moves are actually a subset of the Fish pattern.
